The Kite Runner
2 journalers for this copy...
I have about 100 pages of this book to read at the moment so will review it later. The cover on this copy is different from the one illustrated.
Review:- I did enjoy this book but found that it went on a bit too long when I got towards the end. It described the emotions of the main character very well and was a very good well-thought-out story. There was a little too much violence for my liking although I'm sure it was realistic to the time and place. I don't feel I want to see the film now, having read the book, as I imagine the violence will be magnified on the screen. I also felt that there was at least one conicidence towards the end that was a little far-fetched.
The earlier part of the story was, to my mind, the best, where it describes the
fellowship of the two young boys but explains how they can never be on the same footing because of the difference in their backgrounds and status in life.

This book will be off on a journey to Surrey tomorrow-28th February 2011 in the hands of the Royal Mail. It is heading for another bookcrosser as a RABCK after it was found on her wishlist. Safe journey little book and I hope you really enjoy it Rach-489.
Received this in the post today as a RABCK from daffodil-2. Thank you so much for sharing this! Cannot wait to get my teeth into it ... so to speak :)
