"When Coraline steps through a door to find another house strangely similar to her own (only better), things seem marvelous.

But there's another mother there, and another father, and they want her to stay and be their little girl. They want to change her and never let her go.

Coraline will have to fight with all her wits and courage if she is to save herself and return to her ordinary life."

This was such an awesome story. Coraline is a great character, smart and adorable. And the neighbours were delightful! Definitely a bit of an eerie read; I was at home alone and I kept thinking I heard strange noises in the apartment while reading!
PM'd next on the list when I received the book; will get it going to the US soon!

I enjoyed this young adult book. It was a nice break from the heavy tomes I have been reading lately. I wanted to read the book before I saw the movie and now Netflix here I come.

Journal Entry 15 by abigailann at Abingdon, Oxfordshire United Kingdom on Monday, December 5, 2011

Just arrived in the post. I have one ray book and a bookclub book to read first then, providing no review books arrive in the meantime, I will get round to this one.

Journal Entry 16 by abigailann at Abingdon, Oxfordshire United Kingdom on Friday, December 30, 2011

An enoyable and intriguing read. Younger readers might enjoy the gruesome aspects more than I did, bt there was plenty else to keep me reading. Coraline's character came across extremly well, reminding me of many a child her age. The other world was mysterious and creepy, it kept your attention very well.

Journal Entry 17 by disneyfreaksam at Warminster, Wiltshire United Kingdom on Thursday, January 5, 2012

I squeezed this in between two quite big books and loved it. Coraline is a wonderful character and so are her odd neighbours and of course the cat. Neil Gaiman created just another great story.

Thank you for sharing this.

Will travel to pingucb soon. Just have to make it to the post office sometime. Just working ridiculous hours at the moment... ;-)

Huge apologies to LilyKlip - this arrived last week and I had completely forgotten to journal it. It is however, very much appreciated and I am looking forward to reading it.
