Received in the mail today as a forum RABCK! Thank you!

1982 Pocket Books Timescape paperback. Long ago, I used to have the fun old original ST novels as written by the eminent James Blish, as I recall.

Edit June 13, 2021: This was pretty good, although I largely skimmed it. There are some great conflicts between Kirk and the Vulcans here. And the premise has a cool twist in which Kirk and Spock switch command roles. The authors did a thorough job of citations for each reference back to the old series and body of written material, which makes the Star Trek universe fairly complete. Even if I only have very vague recall of some of the references, lol, even though I have watch the complete series a half dozen times over the decades. So this is a pretty good read. I currently have this ranked at #1244 on my ranked list of best-read books lately.
