Crossing Paths - the BookCrossing novel
3 journalers for this copy...
Are my eyes REALLY getting that bad? I entered the ISBN 2x and nothing happened. 'Went for lunch...tried again...it worked! Jessibud and I purchased this book together and we are looking forward to reading it. (I have it first) How fun to see real BX'er names in here! (I did a really quick perusal - without spoiling the story - to see who was there - couldn't resist!)
A recent book about Bookcrossing - go figure - when's the movie out? Thanks for sharing Bookgirrl.......even has Journal Entries.........
Well, this one has been languishing far too long on the shelf. I will bring it to the meetup tomorrow
What you have in your hands is an honest-to-goodness gift, no strings attached. You may keep it forever and ever, pass it on to a friend, or release it into the wild like I did.
If you are new to BookCrossing and find this book and this site, welcome! Enjoy the site, the book and hopefully the BookCrossing community. I hope you'll join BookCrossing (it's free!) and if you do, please consider using any previous reader of this book, or me, jessibud, as the member who referred you. Or you may remain anonymous!
If you are an old hand at BookCrossing, thanks for picking up the book! Either way, I hope you'll journal so all the previous and future readers can track this book's journey. Thanks, and happy Crossing!

I'm on a bookring for this book but I am so far down the list, it may never actually get to me. Thrilled to find this on the shelf at Harbord House Pub today.
I have read all the mixed reviews of this book and it seems a lot of readers give up on it part way through.
I am not sure what to think of it; if I was not already a bookcrosser for so many years and hadn't met any real life bookcrossers, I may be led to believe that releases are regularly hunted and caught and journalled! I may be led to believe that romances happen in the background (if that's true then I am missing out!) - although I do seem to recall a few romances in my early days when the forums were much more active than they are now. Back to the book - it was a fun, light read despite it being over 600 pages. The story becomes more and more mystical (perhaps fantastical) as it goes on but it seems to flow well. There are alot of characters to keep track of and there are some editing issues with timelines and names that made me have to re-read a page or two here and there.
I loved seeing journal entries from 'old friends' - minerswifebb, bookczuk, ottawabill, jessibud to name a few.
What the book does get right about bookcrossing and what I would want a new bookcrosser to take away from it - bookcrossing brings people together through the love of reading, the love of sharing books and the love of finding how a particular book speaks to them and how it might speak to someone else differently.
I'd like this to go to another bookcrosser so I won't be wild releasing it as I am not sure the general public would appreciate it as much.
Thanks to jessibud and bookgirrl for leaving it at Harbord House for me to find :)
