Christopher Moore is so very funny. Here we have a young woman working in the SF Finacial district and one night she gets attacked. 24 hours later she wakes up to find she has been transformed to a vampire. No explanation and no one around to help. She figures it all out with the help of a naive young man who has just moved from Indiana. The cast of characters of querky and silly. This is a lot of fun.

I generally shy away from the vampiric genre but was convinced by pleasantread and countedx58 that this particular book is a lot of fun. So we shall see!

Must admit to being entertained by this vampire satire. Part of the pleasure was its San Francisco setting, and being able to envision the characters in virtually all of the places where the action took place. Not sure I would seek out more like this, but this one was fun.

Planning to release at the March 8 meeting of the TriValley BC group in Dublin, California.

"Caught" this yesterday evening on my first excursion out to the TriValley BookCrossing group meetup at Panera Bread in Dublin, the second Tuesday of each month. Thank you!

2008 Simon & Schuster trade paperback of the 1995 modern cult classic. This was on my list of best modern books to read.

I can let this go after I read:
1992 Practical Demonkeeping [read 2012]
1994 Coyote Blue [read 2013]

Edit May 14, 2021: So far I have not been a big fan of this author, with his somewhat flippant style. It kind of takes all the tension out of his stories. But I found the early part of this tale, when she first becomes a vampire, to be very amusing. But I mostly skimmed the rest to end for time. I currently have this ranked at #840 on my ranked list of best-read books lately.

Released 2 yrs ago (5/15/2021 UTC) at Little Free Library at 6521 Mokelumne Avenue in Oakland, California USA
