A rather bemusing book about life/death and human folly. Definitely interesting but not as exciting or heart-wrenching as TTTW.
Thank you so much for sending this to me - I've been wanting to read this for a while.

I loved the mix of styles here - yes, this is a ghost story, but there are no real elements of horror and nothing to really be scared about. Instead, you have a story about twins - how two people that look alike can have a special bond, but a bond that can go terribly wrong if circumstances allow.
I can't say that any of the characters were particularly loveable - likable yes, but not necessarily people I would want to spend a lot of time with. They're all very selfish in their own ways - Marijke abandons her OCD husband, Martin won't take pills to control his OCD, Valentina hurts her sister to get away, Julia hurts her sister to make her stay, Robert just generally falls through events so he doesn't have to do anything and Elspeth - well, without spoiling the end of the book, all I can say is that she's really not that nice.
I did like the ending, although I did see it coming. I liked the fact that all Elspeth's plotting left her the unhappiest of the lot, while everyone else found some sort of happy ending.
Why not full marks? What they did to the Kitten was not nice ...
Highly recommended nonetheless - can't wait to read more by this author.
