Visiting my sister (who lives just south of Balzac :)), I wasn't too far from the Beddington Coop to check if any of the recent releases were still there.
Yup. Thanks ZaraGaia; I'll read and re-release soon.

A review from rureading's daughter:
Several of my friends told me to read this book and I was doubtful that it would be a good read – especially when the first chapter is about the rants of a narcissistic unicorn – but I was proven wrong! This story has a bit of everything; danger, friendship, good, evil, and magic woven into a journey to save the elusive, almost forgotten, unicorns.
While the character personalities grated on my patience at times, they were dynamic characters and this kept my interest. I really enjoyed the ending of this book. The journey to Haggard’s Castle was tiresome at times, but once the red bull is involved, phew, it gets much more interesting! There are talking cats, thirsty skulls, mysterious clocks, and their task must be completed before their leader forgets the mission.
I really enjoyed this book and my mom has even found a copy for my permanent collection! :)

I put off reading this book because of the awful cover (not as depicted above) and reading the first page reinforced my predjudice. Then my daughter read the book, and a group of her friends watched the movie, and I was told to 'read this book because it is great.'
I read it, and she was right; it is a great story.
Beagle uses common words and crafts such interesting descriptions. The conversations between characters were clever and sarcastic. I enjoyed the conversation between the mated bluejays, and I would love to read a book just about Jack Jingly and his not-so-merry men.
I think there's a moral in here somewhere about NJABBIC.....

Taking the book to the Calgary BC Meetup at the Joshua Tree Cafe today.
Grabbed at a BC get together
I remember the movie from when I was a kid. The book wasn't quite what I expected, but it was definitely a great story.
Thanks for the read!
Thanks for the read!

Today I went to the Calgary Bookcrossing meetup with the intention of leaving my books there and come home with an empty bookbag. Yeah Right! That is ok because I got some of my old books back that I really do have to read; some books for my herchellettes to read while camping and some books that really look too good to pass up. Thanks everyone!
I have always loved this movie, now I look forward to reading the book.

It is that time of year again! Spring cleaning my Mount TBR. I am sorry that I wasn't able to read this book, so I am bringing it back to the group to circulate.
Are you in the Calgary area ? Please check out our Facebook group, "BookCrossing Calgary" for details on where our meet ups will be held in the future. We are sad to report that Joshua Tree will no longer be our meeting spot, but best wishes to the Joshua Tree management and staff for their continuing success in their new location.

This has been sitting way too long on my shelf waiting to be read, so I am bringing it back to the group to be enjoyed.
I have returned from the March meeting with WAY more books than I brought.
This was another book that got caught in the back of my bookshelf and I discovered it when cleaning out our basement for renovations. THEN, well, I was so so about the cover. Finally read the journals and decided I better get at it. Very thought provoking book. Constantly thinking - hmmm - what all meanings can I take from this? When I was in an art gallery when on holidays, I saw a picture of horses running in the surf and they gradually became the surf. I could just picture a horn on their head!
I am taking this to the December meetup at Cravings Restaurant.
I am bringing this to the January meetup at Cravings to pass on to the next reader.
Picked up at the monthly Book Crossing meeting at Cravings Market Restaurant
Returning to Calgary BookCrossing group
Got these from a BookCrosser to return to circulation. I am sorting the books and either passing directly to a Calgary member who has requested it or returning it to the person who introduced it to the group. Hopefully this one will find a new reader soon!
Book returned to me.
