Short story collection by the author of The Butcher Boy and Breakfast on Pluto.

Hmmm, how to describe these stories? I guess I could call them Irish Gothic: they are kind of macabre but far too silly to be actually scary. A bit like a cross between The League of Gentlemen and Father Ted. Nowhere near as disturbing as The Butcher Boy.

I read this between 4th and 15th October, not sure what to say some of the stories I enjoyed but I struggled with others. No sure I get the whole idea of what McCabe was trying to do by creating an author and writing as him. I haven't read any of McCabe other works so I'd be interested to see what else he's written.
