Thank you soooo much for this and another wishlist book. And for the tea! Received it during the Unconvention in Swindon, what a wonderful surprise. I'm delighted!!!!

I enjoyed this novel, found it quite unputdownable. Great observations of the protagonist's inner lives, great characterisations. Each person is depicted very convincingly, even though they are all very different personalities, and rather complex too. I love the structure - telling a story from eight different points of view, while the story is moving on. It all starts with a slap, but soon is becomes clear that this slap is just the trigger for lots of different problems and conflicts to break open. All this revolves around loads of different topics - such as child rearing, family, friendship, violence, multiculturalism, rassism, prejudice, homosexuality, sex, drugs and what not...
Highly recommendable!

This book was on my wishlist and I really look forward to reading it

Just finished this and I have to say that I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I believe that it was the style of writing that I didn't enjoy, the story is a good one.
I also have to say that it contains some of the worst written sex scenes that I have ever read.

I'm moving this on via Read It Swap It, hopefully it will find a more appreciative reader ;)
