This was an amazingly interesting yet shocking true story - two young women are part of an horrific accident. One family buries their daughter, the other sits in vigil beside their comatose daughter's bedside... it is weeks later the error of mistaken identity is discovered. The religious aspect of this book was a bit high for me, but the way these two families share their loss and gain with each other is a testament to the power of faith and love for others and well worth wading through a bit of scripture.

Interesting story - almost unbelievable that no one in the Cerak family viewed the body in the coffin (to say 'goodbye' even if they believed the identification by another person that it was their daughter) or that the Van Ryn family ignored all the differences in the girl in the bed from their daughter.

I know families who have said only their faith got them through difficult times, but as a non-Christian I found the constant prayers, bible references, gone to a better life in heaven, etc. hard to take - superstition based on a work of fiction.

I'll release it on the BX shelf at Paraparaumu Station next week.
