I received this by mistake, ordering another book from Amazon! But I'll give it a go - I've seen Agatha Christie films but have never read one of the books before...
For a chance possession, I quite enjoyed the read. It was my first ever book of Agatha Christie (although I have of course seen some of her work on TV) and despite the of course slightly oldfashioned style it was very readable. The language does suit the early 20th century setting...
Murder on the Links is an episode with the famous Inspector Poirot, whom I did not find as endearing as many other people do, judging by his popularity. I think the character is overdeveloped, simply too strong in his antics, and I don't like his overconfidence even if it proves justified.
The plot, set mainly in France, has many interesting angles and surprising turns of event which I admit kept me glued to the story. I wouldn't mind reading another one of this series but wouldn't go as far as hunting them out.

When I first picked up this book I did not recogniase the title as one I had seen on television. When I began it quickly became apparentt that it had indeed been one of the series. It was still an interesting read, if only to see how faithful the television production was to the story. I have to say pretty muchalthough I think some liberties were taken with the casting.
Picked up at the Chertsey meeting last night.
