1981 Berkley paperback of the 1979 sf classic. I found this copy last year in the free books pile on the porch of Dimond Library.
I can let this go after I read:
1975 In the Bowl (short story) [read 2013]
1977 The Ophiuchi Hotline [n/a]
Edit April 20, 2021: This was pretty good, about an exploration of a colossus pseudo-world that seems to be living, complete with vast forests of trees and vines growing out of its sides, as far as the eye can see. I skimmed a lot through it for time, but it had some moment that made slow down to read. There are also nice illustrations throughout, which are more or less helpful to the narrative, but nice to look at in any case. I currently have this ranked at #565 on my ranked list of best-read books lately.
