A pressie from Mol. I think I preferred "The Birth of Venus", although perhaps if I'd read this first it would be the other way around. Its unfair really to think of them as 'too' similar to each other (convent, Italy, rebel female protagonist, Renaissance), after all, how many novels set in 20th century London have I read? Overall though a fascinating page turner. Thanks Mol!
