During a holiday in Rome, I came across the Italian cat sanctuary Torre Argentina, a shelter for homeless cats and bought this lovely little book with cat tales by friends of the Italian cat sanctuary, written "in appreciation of all those who so generously contribute their time, talent and love to animal rescue everywhere".
This is only a small book (47 pages) with warm-hearted stories about friends of the Roman Torre Argentina Cat Sanctuary and their cats and about the pleasure of giving a cat a new home.
Illustrated with beautiful photos, drawings and paintings (by Gaia Michelini, Rosamund Clarke, Susanna Galster, Muriel Escop, Sylvia Huber-Gaensslen).

Happy reading!
This beautiful little book arrived in my mailbox today - Hurray! Thank you so much Columbina - I love the postcards and the gorgeous little calendar :) I will journal again after I read it.
I really enjoyed reading the stories in this little book! It was lovely and heartbreaking all at the same time.
I myself have been involved in cat rescue and know that there is no shortage of homeless and needy cats. At present, I have 5 cats that share my home with my 3 children and 5 birds. I did have 6 cats, but lost my little 20 year old, Genie, just this summer due to old age and renal failure.
I am going to send this book on to another cat lover as this book should be read and appreciated by many cat lovers!

Its a cold snowy day and the Croydon Cats Protection Homing Day that I volunteer at has been cancelled due to the weather so I thought I would cheer myself up by reading some cat rescue stories.
I love to hear of stories like this knowing and there are other organisations over the world doing their best for the cats of this world.
I have four cats of my own, all rescues, and they are my children!

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
This book is on the move again -- I'm sorry it took me so long to locate and send it, Weeder. Happy, safe travels, little book!
This little book of "Cat Tales" has had another very long journey to find my mailbox in the USA. It reminds me of being in Rome, myself, and seeing all the cats. It didn't occur to me to ask how or why they were there. I'm happy to see there are people helping these homeless animals. My husband and I found a little, lost kitten several years ago. She was so sick and frightened. We took her to the vet and found she had a very bad urinary tract infection as well as many, many fleas. When she first came to our house to live she spent the first two weeks mostly hiding under a bed and only very slowly began to trust us. Even now after seven years any unexpected movement or noise sends her running. She has become a sweet, loving cat to us although still a little wary. Her name is Lucy.
BookRay mailed to minesayn in Huron, OH.
Received via media mail, thanks to weeder, yesterday. Read the same day as it is a quick read and frankly due to surgery, it became a priority to journal quickly and efficiently.
Told by owners (or owned by) of cats rescued by a Roman sanctuary for cats, quite a few short tales (tails?).
Will contact next reader and will post as soon as possible, that is after I am able to do so, post-op.

I loved this little book and was so sad to see it end! The stories of the cats and "their humans" were wonderful and heart-warming. I will have to remember how much I enjoy cat stories and seek out more of them to read in the future.
Thanks, weeder, for including me in this bookray. I am so glad that I participated! I have sent a PM to the next person, so the book should be moving along again shortly.

This book arrived safely in the mail. I will read it this week and send it on its way. I'm sure I will enjoy the stories as I am a cat lover.
These are uplifting stories about cats that were abandoned or lost, scared and without hope, who then found loving forever homes with loving families. This book was just what I needed to read today! Sending it on its way to next reader.
WELCOME TO BOOKCROSSING Congratulations! You found a traveling book! This book has been set free. It is yours to keep or share. Please take a moment to make a journal entry to let me know the book has found a new home.
Book is in the mail to next reader, DVG
Today I received a Book Crossing Summary about this book. It's been out on a Controlled Book Ray for ten years! It's been in the hands of Book Crossers in Germany, Canada, the UK, Nepal, and then five Book Crossers in the US. It's a lovely, as well as, a sad little book about a cat sanctuary in Rome, IT, If you read the JE's you'll get an idea of what the book is about. It lifted my spirit to read about people who are dedicated to homeless animals. They have been able to find forever homes and provide medical services for many, many cats.

Arrived in NJ safely. My apologies for not journaling its arrival sooner, I thought I did. I am starting this today.
I loved reading these little stories on rescued kitties. The stories touched my heart and made me want to hug my own rescued cats. I want to thank all those who do rescue, it is not always easy but those of us who adopt them appreciate all your work in helping these kitties. Many purrs.
This will be shared soon, waiting an address.
