Many warm thanks to you, beachglass, for this kind one-year-anniversary RABCK!! As with any Barbara Kingsolver, I'm sure to enjoy this one. :)
You gotta love Barbara Kingsolver!
There's just something about reading her words in the heat of summer, and breathing in every detail, as she describes the earth beneath her bare toes, and the beauty of the people around her. This collection of essays was a great change from her fiction-- but similar in light of her concerns about environmental pollution and war, which seem to be reflected in her fiction. I also really enjoyed the pieces about the art of writing itself, and the beautiful descriptions of her daughter that seem sprinkled here and there.
Thanks again, beachglass, for treating me to this gem over a year ago! :)
