Journal Entry 1 by winglunaciawing from Fredrikstad, Østfold fylke Norway on Friday, June 25, 2010
In a rambling house, failed poet Toby Dobbs has created a refuge for people who need one. But when a quiet tragedy and an unwelcome letter interrupt Toby's sedate existence, he needs his house mates to find some direction in their lives. Leah Pilgrim has watched the tenants of the house over the road for several years, and when the owner of 31 Silversmith Road asks her for advice, he opens the door not only to the eccentric building across the street - but to five lives in various stages of turmoil. Can Toby and Leah help these misfits to grow up, move on and move out? And in doing so, can they make their own dreams come true?

Journal Entry 12 by carelaisa at Québec, Québec Canada on Saturday, January 1, 2011
It seemed at first to be an interesting read but... I expected more from this book and I must admit that I found the novel quite average. The author uses a well-established recipe for chickit; all characters have a nice ending and find their path… overall, all is well that ends well. I’m not sure that I’ll read other books by this British writer.

Have now pm'ed the next BCer for her address so as soon as I get it, the book will be in the mail.

Starrdust is the next reader and my sister, so I know where she lives! I'll be giving her this book tomorrow.

Journal Entry 18 by starrdust at Cookstown, Ontario Canada on Sunday, February 27, 2011
Finished reading this book today and I enjoyed the evolving story as well as the characters who crossed paths with each other through their living situations - - eventually connecting their lives on a deeper, more human level. Reminds us that we each have a story to tell and to look beyond the surface level to the person within . . .

I've sent a message to Ythan and when I get the address this little book will be flying off to Scotland.

I really enjoyed reading this book! I'm quite fond of "and they lived happily ever after". There's so much misery and violence IRL so a couple of hours of escapism is needed sometimes, I think.

I'll send it on in a couple of days.

The book arrived yesterday, thanks babelfisk!

By the sound of the first chapter it will be an easy and fun read.
Looking forward to it! :)

Journal Entry 28 by vedranaster at Zagreb: Donji grad (city centre), Zagreb City Croatia on Saturday, August 20, 2011

Whew! Had a day to myself yesterday so I finally finished the book.
Contacting the next in line and sending the book on as soon as I get the address.

Though I was on the verge of not reading it at first, as it struck me as a romance, and one romance a year is quite enough for my taste *grin*, I stuck with it and quite enjoyed it. Yes, it is a romance at heart, and yes, everything ends in a hollywood-like positive way, but I enjoyed immersing myself into the lives of the characters. The writing style is quite easy so it is a fast read (though one wouldn't guess that judging by how long it took me to finish it). I actually read 300 pages from yesterday afternoon till night.
Some parts even made me laugh out loud. :)

Thank you, lunacia, for sharing and for your understanding.
My apologies to those reading after me for making them wait.
:)

Edited August 22:
Emilena74 asked to be skipped due to a very high Mt. TBR.
Contacting Icila for their address.

Edited August 25:
Received address from Icila promptly. Thanks! :)
The book leaves on Monday; can't make it to the post office this week.

Wow! The book is here in Budapest, it was a fast travel! Thank you, vassilka, for mailing it to me. I will do my best to read it .. soon... :))

10.27.
I will need to have additional weeks to read it. I am lag behind of my reading, but finally I reached this book. I will have a 4 day holiday from Saturday, so I will figure out that this book is readable to me or not. Readable, well, lately I read more non-readable books, so I lost interest in reading. Meantime I will ask for the next reader's addy...

The timing is not on my side. It is not the fault of the book, I only do not have the mood ... to read. I only hope the book liked my home, where it could relax a bit :))

I really enjoyed this book. Once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down. It was a quick, fun read and I lost myself in the story. I really liked the characters and especially appreciated how the main character, Toby, changed. It was kind of a feel good book and I smiled at the end.

Have received an address from minesayn and will send this book on its way on Monday when I stop in at the Post Office.

Thanks for the fun read.

Received through the mail from lovereddesert--thanks! And thanks, too, for lunacia for arranging this ray. Can't wait to read it, but just a heads-up that I have received several rings/rays in the past few weeks and will get to it as soon as possible. Looks like a good book!

Journal Entry 41 by wingminesaynwing at Huron, Ohio USA on Sunday, January 1, 2012
A man, Toby, owns a house on 31 Silversmith Road. He owns the house and has "renters" who live there to make their dreams possible, but none of them are successful at living, especially Toby. His neighbor Leah (as she calls herself, the NOSY neighbor) watches them all go in and out, day after day imagining their stories until their worlds collide when Toby's oldest renter collapses on the sidewalk in front of the house. When Leah and Toby meet, change happens to them all, and nothing is ever the same again for any of them.

Thanks for the opportunity to read this one. Having never read her novels before, I will check for others. Awaiting address to send to next reader.

I totally enjoyed this book and found myself reading it till the wee hours of the morning to satisfy my curiosity about Toby and Leah and especially Ruby the most fragile housemate of them all. The characters were endearing and most admired Leah for accepting Toby for who he was especially during his rough times and seeing him through his wonderful transformation throughthe years.

I have PM next person in line and will send it on as soon as I get the address.
Thanks so much lunacia for sharing this delightful book.
