Who will believe an elderly lady telling a somewhat bizarre story of having witnessed a murder in a train, when there is no body to be found and no one is reported being missed? But here comes Miss Marple! With the aid of Lucy, a unusual young lady who has taken a First in Mathematics in Oxford but prefers to go into service, she finally unravels the mystery.
As always with Agatha Christie, all the ingredients of a fine crime story are there.
Comment of The Times (from the book cover): 'A model detective story ... never a dull moment'. I second that.
