backcover text:
Caps are wonderful knitting projects - small and portable, providing just the right mix of challenge and simplicit. Since they are both decorative and practical, caps are always in demand.
Beginning with the basic ribbed watch cap, Hats On! branches out to include designs with multiple colors, interesting textures, and special features for extra warmth. You'll find hats with ear flaps, ornamented cuffs, or no cuffs at all; caps with stripes, stars, or knitted-in initials; a tassled fez, a jester's cap, even tiny Christmas ornaments. Folk motifs adapt beautifull to cap design, and in this wide-ranging collection Charlene Schurch draws on traditions from the Andes to Scandinavia, from Turkey to the British Isles, to create beautiful head coverings for all tastes.
When she first became interested in knitting caps, Charlene Schurch recalls, she had a difficult time finding good, practical patterns, so she started designing her own. Now a Knitting Guild of America Certified Master Knitter, she has written articles for Piecework and other knitting magazines. Hats On! is her second book of original designs; her first was a collection of Russion mitten patterns.

Down East Books, paperback, 88 pages

As I have enough other knitting pattern for caps and not enough time to use them all, I'll lend this book to the German Handspinn-Forum, so it could become there a "Wanderbuch" (a forum-intern travelling book/book ring)
