I bought this collection after reading "This Bridge Called Our Backs," a seminal feminist text from the 60s. This collection, coupled with the original "Bridge" create a more complete picture of feminism that is often rendered by mainstream, liberal, Betty Freiedan-esque feminist thought. Pulling from the voices of women of color, lesbians, bisexuals, and transpeople, this collection is a complete look at aspects of womanhood that often are brushed under the rug of mainstream feminism.
I haven't read the entire collection. But I pick it up and read a few articles/chapters from time to time. Every time I pick it up, I loose a few hours in productive (and sometimes pissed) dialogue with these amazing women writers.

releasing this book to a student in the hopes that it helps her searching (in my class and in her life)
