Fun book. I'm not a coffee drinker, so there were parts I didn't really care about, but I did enjoy the protagonist and also the storyline.

I'm putting this in Round 2 of my mystery bookbox.

It was average, the who dun it part was a bit contrived, would've liked to have known the actual murder was in the running before the last chapter. The author cheated in my opinion. I don't know if I'll bother reading any more by this author.

Was read while waiting for next addy-

Arrived last week via emmagoldmanzine's mystery bookbox. I'm more of a tea drinker than a coffee drinker - but I love a cup of something hot and full of caffeine to go with my books, so this one looks interesting.

This one was a quick read. For the most part, it was pretty good - Clare's a cool heroine, the Village Blend sounds like someplace I'd want to hang out, and there were a lot of clues for the reader to chew on.

On the downside, the last chapter is a little preachy, talking about how Clare wished the victim could have stayed on the high road. But still, a good book.

Book #1 in the Coffeehouse Mystery series:

Introducing a delightful new series featuring Clare Cosi, manager of the historic Village Blend coffeehouse...

Clare arrives at work to discover the assistant manager dead in the back of the store, coffee grounds strewn everywhere. Two detectives investigate. But when they find no sign of forced entry or foul play, they deem it an accident. Still, Clare is not convinced. And after the police leave, Clare can't help wondering...If this was an act of murder, is she in danger?

My Review: This is a great start to a series! I love coffee, but I admit I don't know all that much about how to make all the different types. The main character, Clare, is very interesting and I wanted to find out what happens with her as much as the mystery in the book. I have a couple of the books in this series, I will have to find the rest.
