Snagged this one earlier tonight during a BX run at InsaniTea.
Finished this one last night.
This one was pretty good - interesting plot, although I think she kind of left the reader hanging regarding the Burns book.
This also brought back quite a few memories of my last trip to the UK a couple of years ago - we spent a few days in Edinburgh and got to visit some of the places mentioned in the book, including the castle and the Royal Mile.

Now on its way to eicuthbertson, who selected it from bookstogive's mystery VBB. Enjoy!
Just received in the mail - thanks to 4thEstate!
Yes, what will happen to 'the' book'? Will it turn up again in another story, (or in a famous lady's estate sale someday?), or was it just a lost plot device. Like the characters, love all the book info, but I guess I would liked a bit more historical scandal!

We stayed in the hotel in Edinburgh she uses for the setting although she changes the interior to suit. I wish that hotel did have a bar like the one she described. I couldn't have gotten into the back of the archives at all, it was hard enough just getting a computer terminal to use, but I liked the cat. As for the historical document....
