Caught the book in my husband's restaurant about a year or two ago. Was pleased to find it because I had just finished a book, needed a new one, and love Clyde Edgerton (the author). Forgot to do release it and found it cleaning out some junk. I had read the book before, but this was a good re-read. Love Raney and the way Edgerton helps you lover her. His description of ignorant prejudice in Raney's family and Raney (as she unknowingly follows suit)is right on the money for how some in the south, yet the lack of prejudice described in Raney's husband and his family and their frustrton with prejudice is described the way it truly is for those of us who are not prejudice. It shines a face of reality on the subject while draped in a funny, endearing novel. Will release it again at Taco Dog on a table.
