The Happy Prince and Other Stories (Penguin Popular Classics)
3 journalers for this copy...
These stories were originally written for Wilde's own children. I don't think I will be reading them to my daughter any time soon though. I think the opulent descriptions would bore her, the witty epigrams would go over her head, and every single story is characterised by romantic tragedy, which she would find sad and confusing (stories are supposed to have happy endings!). And there aren't enough animal noises for her liking. I, however, found them beautiful and strangely moving.

A nice quick enjoyable read, have to admit I'm not sure how old Wilde's Children where when they read these but I wouldn't imagine I'd be able to read and understand them as a child. That said they were enjoyable little moralistic stories.
Thanks Stubie, added to my TBR pile!
