I purchased this book because the next Bookcrossing UK Unconvention is happening in Swindon and Jasper Fforde is attending. I had to have the link between Jasper Fforde and Swindon pointed out to me and now I'm very keen to read the books before arriving there in October and then of course releasing them in town while I'm there - maybe on the Magic Roundabout somewhere?

Set mostly in the book world and The Well of Lost Plots (the place where books are created - obviously), I was pleasantly surprised to find that I hadn't tired of the Ffordian format. I tend to get series drift with books by number 3. Jasper Fforde manages to keep his ideas fresh and his mind (and therefore the actions of the characters) are always popping, keeping you on your toes.

This book deals very nicely with the concept of book lending and by default Bookcrossing as Thursday Next thwarts an evil plan to upgrade the book format to a UltraWord, which can only be read three times and has poorly formed unimaginitive plots - you have to wonder whether Mr Fforde had Dan Brown and James Patterson in mind as he conceptualised this.

Anyway, this was a great read and I find myself surprised to be still looking forward to the next in the series.

Taking this copy to Zanzibar to release so this note will serve as release notes incase it gets caught and journalled before I return.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

Left in the lovely Africa House on the day I departed Stone Town to go up north and lollygag about the beaches. We breakfasted here each morning as it was somehow included in our room rate at another local hotel. The view was exquisite.
