Really enjoyed this book. It was an easy and fast read, especially after finishing "Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell", an epic of a novel! I couldn't put "Garden Spells" down - the only times I did, within the 2 days I took to finish it, was when I had to attend to essentials like going to bed or going to work LOL. I found the magic of the story had a life and personality of its own, that along with the characters, it was what made the story. I especially loved the magic of the Waverley women, each one having their own unique gift. My favourite was Evanelle's - I was always trying to guess the purpose of each of the things she gave away.
