This is the first book I have read by Ann Packer. I will be looking for more of her work!

This is one of the best books I have read recently. Carrie is 23 years old. Her relationships with her friends are changing. She's trying to understand those changes. She's engaged to Mike. They were sweethearts all through high school and college. She wears his ring, but is reluctant to set a wedding date. Then Mike is injured in a dive from Clausen's Pier. The injury leaves him a quadrapelegic. The story takes off from there as Carrie tries to understand who she is and her place in the world.
The author seems to understand the issues faced by quad's and those who love them quite well. She also understands and is able to write about the joys and pains of being early 20's. I really enjoyed this book and I reccommend it.

This book will now travel via USPS to JDT in California. JDT, I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did- I would not have thought to pick it up without you!

This was a GREAT book. Basically, it's the story of a girl (told from her perspective) who is engaged to a guy who dives into the lake, breaks his neck on the bottom and becomes a quadriplegic. It traces her emotional journey in the aftermath of the accident and how she resolves her many conflicting feelings. It also explores how her actions affect those around her.

I'll return this to fellow BookCrosser jdt, who was kind enough to lend it to me.
