What a very enthralling journey into what was a very new detailed look into one corner of the Civil War. The Crescent City, New Orleans and the prominent Jewish families there were impacted with hardships as any other plantation owner, but per this novel had a unique story to tell. The insigths into some of the happenings were very interesting. I was shocked by the prejudice after the Civil War toward the Irish, the Jewish and still the Black population. A very good read.
