dup for releasing; from my original read: LMIC April book club - Sibyl is a midwife trapped with her apprentice, a laboring woman and the woman's husband during a protracted second phase of labor. The woman appears to die, so Sibyl, a lay midwife, does a c/s to save the baby. The state of Vermont decides to prosecute. Novel is told through her daughter's eyes.
