The Nero Wolfe mysteries are one of my favorite vices. Nicely written, cleverly constructed, and populated by pleasingly eccentric characters, they're a great first read and hold up surprisingly well to rereading. Fer-de-lance is the first in the series. I hope you enjoy this (and the other Nero Wolfe mysteries by Rex Stout) as much as I have. There are 46 in all, so if you like this one, you've got plenty more to enjoy!
