Just from the first twenty-or-so pages, it's patently clear that no matter how enticing the premise, I'm not going to get through a book by this author...I was already finding his tone and comments to be thoroughly irritating.

And as we always say, so many books, so little time...so I'll pass this one on and hope that the next reader has a bit more luck with it.

Will be taking this one along with me to my first ever Meet-Up in London on Tuesday night to share with some of my fellow BookCrossers...am ridiculously over-excited already!

I wasn't supposed to pick up any books, actually....but you know me, how can I ever resist and abandon a book in a pub?? No idea how it will be like... I guess I will give it a try next week, when I am crossing the Channel again to visit Germany, and if I find it also as irritating as Lucycat did, I'll be freeing it in Germany - of course in an English-speaking environment ;-)

I am having a majour cull for all books that have been caught and not read in 8+ years. This is one of the casualties of my destashing for the year, and going in a box together with other books to the charity shop of Barnsley Animal Rescue. I hope it will be picked up and enjoyed by a worthier reader 😊
