My first Raymond Chandler - and I'm hooked. Well written, evocative and pacey. The humour just keeps coming at you - Marlowe is a character who you just want to spend time with. "A dead body is as heavy as a broken heart." Wonderful.

Thanks Flambard, I finally picked this up and wished I had done so sooner! Completely agree about the great writing. This is not my preferred genre, but I will be looking out for more by this author as it was so well written.
