This is a collection of connected short stories dealing with four sisters who emigrated from the Dominican Republic. It deals with their experiences in NYC, from living a life in a wealthy household with maids and chauffers to experience life in standards far lower then they are accustomed to, along with racial prejudices. It is an interesting read.

I'm going to try to "lose" this book in a cab or on the subway tonight. Hope someone takes it home!
