From the cover:
"Jack Boughton -- prodigal son -- has been gone twenty years. He returns home seeking refuge and to make peace with the past. A bad boy from childhood, an alcoholic who cannot hold down a job, Jack is perpetually at odds with his surrounding and with his traditionalist father, though he remains Boughton's most beloved child. His sister Glory has also returned fleeing her own mistakes, to care for their dying father. "

Thank you so much for sending this book my way as part of a sweepstake winning package... you are so very thoughtful. I haven't read any Marilynne Robinson books as of now but this looks like it will be a Great Read. Also thanks for the lovely bookmark and the very useful stickers.
Oppem, the Bookcrosser who previously journalled this book, passed away on June 23, 2012. I had the privilege today of meeting her dear family and "catching" her large collection of registered books. I will release this one soon.

2012-07-15 => This book was one of many I received in the mail. Thanx a bunch!!
2023-08-14 => Finished this one. It was well written and easy to read. I found it to be quite tedious. For me it advanced very slowly and that was frustrating. There were hints at events that were not fully explained which gave it some mysteriousness - for lack of a better word. Overall, a bit of a disappointment for me.

On its way to SandyPA
Thank you for this RABCK included with a book from my wishlist, @ciloma. This is my favorite book by Marilynne Robinson, an author I truly respect. I am in awe by the spirituality she weaves in this moving story centered on “Home”.
I feel privileged to be a part of this book’s journey thanks to the generosity of fellow BookCrosser, @ciloma.

Happy to see this book on 💕valpete💕’s wishlist. We seem to share reading tastes so off this goes to the west coast to make a wish come true.
Enjoy!
