Much hyped and newly filmed, part of a Swedish crime wave, if I may be so bold. Despite the cast of unbelievable characters, incredibly complex family saga and criminal activities this is excellent fun! The joint heroes, disgraced finance journalist Mikael Blomquist and bonkers goth hacker Salander, take 294 pages to get together. And, to be honest, the first half of the book plot building is quite slow; although to be fair I think Larsson knew this, on page 265, '...after 6 months of fruitless cogitation..." - all hell breaks loose. The detection around Harriet Vangers death 40 years earlier and the uncovering of a fantastic serial killing dynasty is both convoluted and a bit random. I'm looking forward to the film and the second 2 parts(!) of this series :)

My DD gave in to pressure and is letting me release this into the bookcrossing and booksharing community. A result I think!

I'm always up for a thriller and this came recommended by several bookcrossers - looking forward to it.
