Found this in an OP Shop in Glen Eden. It's on my wish list & the 100 favourite List (UK) Book List I'm trying to read through.
I did not really enjoy this book. I only kept on reading it, hoping to read something to justify my having starting it and it's status as a popular read. I was left feeling I'd wasted my time. I was pretty confused throughout most of my reading. I think the author was trying to make the point that without rules and clear leadership we will rapidly decend into anarchy, chaos and savagery?
Posting off to another bookcrosser. Happy reading!
Arrived well here in Cornwall and took its place on top of my TBR-mountain. Looks like an interesting read - hopefully a good one, too :) Thanks to Sharun again for the book and the postcard - I love postcards! ;)
I can imagine why Shahrun didn't like this book. It's pretty weird from about the middle on and just gets weirder as people go nuts (without giving away too much). It was really a bit disappointing because you keep on hoping something happens that marks a turn and people get kind of back to sanity... Well, it wasn't a waste of time for me, but if you are looking to read a uplifting story, you should definitely not read "Lord of the Flies".
