Who can go past this one? A classic. One of my all time favourites, having both studied it and taught it, it still doesn't lose it's fascination for me. I see 'Lennie' everywhere, and Curly's wife....
Enjoy it, please pass it onto someone who you know will love it as much and keep the book moving.

I enjoyed this book. I liked the scene setting descriptions, the charachters and their dialogue. I had no idea where the story was going and the ending made me sad.
I was annoyed by the introduction. I felt it was unecessary. A brief and to the point bit about why the she liked the book and brief background on the story would have been enough. Not pages of waffle. Guess I didn't have to read it.
This book is reserved for another BookCrosser as part of a swap.

This is going to LittleSuz in Scotland along with John Grisham's A Time to Kill. Safe travels poor little battered Books. Hope you have some great new adventures.
Thanks very much Shahrun. I do like a well-travelled book.
So sad at the end...
I can see why this is a classic. Considering its size, the emotional punch it packs is phenomenal. It's a similar subject matter but quite a different type of novel to 'The Grapes of Wrath' which is the only other Steinbeck I've read before. He's an amazing writer.
