A Heartbreaking Work Of Staggering Genius: Based on a True Story

I read this book quite a while ago, but will release it tomorrow. It is dark, beautiful, poignant, funny, and yes, heartbreaking.
My favorite blurb on the book is one written by Rick Moody, another terrific author. His apt comment can be found on the back of the book: "This book does not need a blurb." Indeed it doesn't.
This book is a testament to the fact that there is genuine suffering in life. I think most people, myself included at times, try to live in denial of that fact. You can't read this book and deny it. The wonderful thing about this book, however, is that it invites no pity. It invites laughter and a chance to realize how incredibly lucky most of us are.

This book is full of dark humor. He says what we all have probably thought at one time or another but would never admit to. He makes you realize that every one has troubles and you are not alone in that respect. You can stick your head in the sand but life is still there when you pull it back out. A likable book that makes you sit back and think about your own life and how trival some things really are. I will be passing this book onto a friend.
