Journal Entry 4 by originalslicey at Virtual BookBox, A Bookbox -- Controlled Releases on Monday, December 3, 2018
Soooooo....I stink at Bookcrossing.

I found this book on my bookshelf. Obviously I received it EIGHT YEARS AGO in the Mystery/Thriller bookbox - right before I moved twice and fell off the face of the earth. At least as far as BC is concerned.

I recently got back on this site since I was mailing a bunch of children's books across the country for donation. I think I stalled one, two, or three bookboxes before I disappeared, though. This book was in one of them!!

Not even sure I tracked this book properly in this journal entry.

I brought it with me on a trip, opened it up, and realized I had read it before. So, I got on BC to see if I had made a journal entry before. Nope! And I don't remember the book in its entirety, so I may just read it again. Regardless, I will DEFINITELY release this book out into the world this time! The book box may have been stalled indefinitely, but the books do still exist and may in fact see the light of day again!

Released 5 yrs ago (12/29/2018 UTC) at 4th Street Market in Santa Ana, California USA

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I've had this book in my possession for a long time. I've actually read it twice, but when I picked it up the second time I couldn't remember the details of the story, so I read it again. I think I enjoyed it more the second time. You've got to stick with it at the beginning then it really picks up. I think the opening chapters threw me a little - they establish backstory of the characters, but since they are set in a different locale and time I think that is what threw my with connecting with the main story very quickly. The author is good and the characters are descriptive. This is the 4th book in a row I've read that has racist or misogynistic characters, though, and my soul needs a break. Time to read something pollyanna for a change.
