I rescued this book from a load that my sister was going to get rid of when she moved out. I do vaguely remember reading it in the past, but am looking forward to revisiting it.

This is an immensely readable book - the characters immediately grab you and you are drawn into their bizarre, complicated lives.
Will doesn't do anything - he doesn't have to. Marcus has moved to London with his mother and is a very weird young boy. When Will invents a son just so he can meet single mothers, his life suddenly clashes with Marcus'. And both do each other a lot of good - Will learns to row up and Marcus learns to be a kid.
This has some funny and some very sad parts, but even those are written in an amusing way. I really enjoyed the film, but the book tells a slightly different and more interesting story, although the characters are essentially the same. There is also something about the cover of this book - is it my imagination or does Hugh Grant's eye look fantastic - and it definately follows you around the room.

Ahhh I'm so annoyed with myself! I actually brought this the other day, even tho my boyfriend said to me "Put that down, you don't need anymore books, someone might send it to you" He was right! But do I ever listen? Nope :( Thank you for sending this to me anyways, I'm sorry I brought it I think actually on the day you posted it. I will get this book moving as soon as possible to another reader.
