I´m looking forward to read it in the next few days. It was chosen as the book of the month by the THE LEIPZIG ENGLISH BOOK CLUB.

A great book.
Joining the Bookies Club I´ve only finished less than 1/3 of the book. Back at home I read it nearly in one rush.
At the Bookies Club we´ve had a great discussion. One of the questions I still have in my mind was "What should be an alternative titel for the novel? Mariam or Laila?".

After finishing I would say definitely "Mariam".
What do you mean?

Eigentlich so gar nicht mein Thema was ich gerne lese, aber der Schreibstil des Autors war so super, dass es mich doch dazu gewogen hat, weiter zu lesen und letzten Endes fand ich es doch sehr interessant so viel über das Land und seine Leute zu erfahren. Ein kleiner Einblick in eine uns doch oft so unverständliche Thematik & Kultur...
