Picked up in a charity shop today. Saw the film and thought it harrowing, but intrigued by the book and how different it is from the film.
From the back:
A father and his young son walk alone through burned America, heading slowly for the coast. Nothing moves in the ravaged landscape save the ash on the wind. They have nothing but a pistol to defend themselves against the men who stalk the road, the clothes they are wearing, a cart of scavenged food - and each other.

Finally plucked up the courage to read this after watching the film a few years ago.
I actually "enjoyed" it more than I thought I would. Although it was as harrowing and more disturbing than the film i think the love between the man and the boy was clearer and that made it a more hopeful book.
Would have been interesting to see what i thought before the film changed my expectations.
Available if anybody wants to read it let me know.

Only half way through and discovered BCID. Never heard of bookcrossing.com before. Really enjoying the book so far. Bought it from amazon, discovered through listening to Nick Cave. Tenuous and tedious link.
A gripping theme and touching story. I enjoyed this book very much.
