Extra copy purchased today from sale basket outside Burnt Bridge newsagents for a RABCK.
From back cover:
"It was a crime so brutal it changed the lives of even the most hardened homicide cops. The Haas family murders left a scar on the community that nothing can erase, but everyone agrees convicting the alleged killer would be a start. Then Judge Carey Moore rules that previous convictions are inadmissible in court, causing a public outcry - and putting the Judge in grave danger.

When Moore is attacked, Detectives Sam Kovac and Nikki Liska are called in to investigate, and keep the judge from further harm. But when Moore is abducted, snatched out of her bed even as the police sit outside watching her house, Kovac and Liska are faced with a list of suspects, including the stepson of a murder victim and a rogue cop, where no one is who they seem, and everyone is guilty of something..."

Just finished reading this, so now to review! This is the first book I've read by this author. It's a good well-written mystery, and a very compulsive read. The only thing I didn't like was that some of the characters have (in my opinion) rather harsh and unkind attitudes about others that it seems are the authors' opinion as well, as they are expressed repeatedly by all the "good guys." Of course all authors express their opinions, but I dislike blanket judgements on people based on their job or their circumstances. :) Just a small thing, really. Overall a really good thriller. Thanks again for sending it so far, Jenny-G! I'm not sure where it will travel next--let's see!

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

I'd brought some books with me from Nepal to pass on to BCers while I'm here, as I'm not always able to mail out RABCKs from there as often as I'd like. I'd hoped to bump into Vekiki at her workplace, but had been unable to get in touch with her, so thought it best to leave them there for her in case I can't see her later. This is one of four--Happy Valentine's Day, Vekiki--hope you enjoy the book; if it's not your type just pass it on!

thankyou for this lovely surprise rabck :)

It's a shame i didn't get to meet you though :(
