The book has arrived safely- yeah - I can tell straight away that this is my kind of book - thank you for sending on to me, I have four book rings in my pile but I know this book will be calling me to let in jump the queue :-)
I took this one on a work trip last week and it was a great read while waiting for my plane and on the plane. Alchemy was an interesting subject matter to base the romance around but it all worked. I think I'll try another book by the this author.

Sending as a RABCK to hotflash. Enjoy!
This book was a very generous RABCK from Lauraloo29. I received it in November of 2015 and was just reminded that it hadn't been journaled as being received. Mad dash to my bookshelf, and there it was. This is a perfect example of how hectic life has been and how things fall through the cracks.
Have not had much reading time, but this one goes on my nightstand and I hope to get to it soon.
Sounds fascinating. I had it on my wishlist for ages.

It took getting sick to have time to read, but this cold has almost been worth my reading The Alchemist's Daughter. I burned through this book in 24 hours.
The writing is rich with both sensual and scientific detail, the characters intriguing, and the time period--including the scientists of the 1700s--was well-researched and very realistically presented. I found the story fascinating and was completely wrapped up in Emilie and her journey from an isolated, brilliant but naive young scholar/scientist, to a becoming strong, resilient, perceptive young woman. Excellent book. Thanks lauralo029 for sending it to me.
