This was a very difficult book to read. I would recommend it for anyone who is grieving the loss of a family member. It was not a book I chose for myself, but one that I read for my book club.

I received this book a while back and I am just now journaling it. This is my current read and brings back memories when I was in a car wreak which took my husband and unborn baby from me. Thank you for sharing!
I just received this from rebecca and can't wait to read it. It has been on my TBR list for a long time. Thank you so much for sharing!
Ms. Didion shares with the world her heartfelt account of the year after her husband's death. Beside dealing with her grief and the long road toward mourning, she had to deal with her daughter's sudden onset of a catastrophic disease.
As her daughter slowly recovers and moves from hospital to hospital, from neuro ICU to a rehab placement, Ms. Didion recalls pivotal moments of her 40-year marriage, as well as anodyne ones that only a couple who has shared so much would find significant.
Beautifully written, honest, and heart wrenching, this memoir will stay with me for a long time.
