Even though I am not a fan of boxing I found this story a great read. Peter FitzSimon's has obviously done his research thoroughly, the insights into the attitudes of the times, both in Australia and America, particularly in regard to the black American boxers was very informative. Coupled with his nicely flowing dialogue I definitely recommend this book as a worthwhile read.

I found it in a cafe in Templestowe on 7/2/2010. Even though I am not in the least interested in boxing, I thoroughly enjoyed the book. It was obviously well researched, written in a very Aussie way and I really loved Les. What a sad but incredible story. I hope the next person enjoys it as much as I did.
