Bought this copy today at a little bookmarket :) I already have another copy of this book, so this one is for bookcrossing ^_^

Back cover:
Israel Armstrong is a passionate soul, lured to Ireland by the promise of an exciting new career. Alas, the job that awaits him is not quite what he had in mind. Still, Israel is not one to dwell on disappointment, as he prepares to drive a mobile library around a small, damp Irish town. After all, the scenery is lovely, the people are charming - but where are the books? The rolling library's 15,000 volumes have mysteriously gone missing, and it's up to Israel to discover who would steal them... and why. And perhaps, after that, he will tackle other bizarre and perplexing local mysteries - like, where does one go to gind a proper cappuccino and a decent newspaper?

I can't say I enjoyed this book much, which is a shame since I had wanted to read it for a long time! I thought the story simply dragged on and on and not much actually happened. But what bothered me most is the way the author seems to need to write a whole paragraph when a simple sentence would have been enough...

Of course this doesn't mean that I didn't appreciate the lovely RABCK! Many thanks again Tsjara:-)

I will now try and find a more appreciative reader for this book!

Read this book with my bookclub in November. Not my favourite book either, but was very glad to get a chance to read it, and parts were quite funny. :)
Continuing this books tradition, I have sent it on a RABK to the USA!

Ahh, RABCKS are a wonderful thing. Thanks for thinking of me; I promise to pay this kindness forward.

I am sad I'll have to put this on Mt. TBR for the time being, but that's how it goes sometimes.

It's never a good sign when you skip the last 100 pages to find out how the mystery unfolds, and even then you're not satisfied.

I'm all for a good farce, but this was too repetitive, and I can't help but wonder if there was meant to be an anti-Semitic slant to the entire concept of Israel, since he was such an utterly unable-to-be-redeemed buffoon. Or maybe we're supposed to love him despite his absolute inability to... function. I mean... Ballygullable?
