This was the first Anita Shreve that I read, and still one of her best (although her latest "Testimony" beats them all).

Can't remember exactly where picked this up.......Interweaving of past & present: 1873 New Hampshire small island with Norwegian family & present day nuclear family visiting the island ostensibly for research on tragedy of previous narrative.

Released 13 yrs ago (5/11/2010 UTC) at University of Wolverhampton in Wolverhampton, West Midlands United Kingdom

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

Hadn't read Anita Shreve before - will be looking out for more titles as result of this book. Felt the final tragedy a bit predictable & in general found the 1873 sections more interestingly written.
