I love Le Carre, and in this one, as almost always, he is writing at the top of his craft. Thank you for the RABCK, nancynova!
After re-reading this book, I can happily confirm that it's absolutely as good as I remembered. We have the details of spycraft, the irresistible writing, the carefully drawn setting, the convoluted but credible plot, the slowly but inexorably building tension, the vividly drawn characters. What I especially enjoyed in this one is the emphasis on the delicate little dance British Intelligence is always doing around "The Cousins" - such fun for a Yank to read! And the ending is unusually tranquil, even beautiful. I loved it, and am proud to offer it to future readers.

I picked this up at Three Tiers, not realizing we had another copy. And I didn't see
the BCID hidden on the title page - so didn't catch it. Moving it elsewhere.
