Judith Ann Jance is one of that breed - mystery and susepnse seen in every breath of life. Even her dogs are named after Agatha Christie and Daphne DuMaurier. And a fine writer she is! The greyness of Seattle envelopes her Beaumont series, the fog envelopes you as you go on deeper inter the books. 'Name Withheld' has a floater in the first chapter, and the pace slowly get you up from any desires to sleep. Very nice.
