Donated to my bookcrossing collection by my mother-in-law. I kind of assume I'm not going to like Roddy Doyle for some reason. Still, I should probably at least give this a try before moving it on.

OK, so I admit that this completely surprised me. My expectations were low, but I actually really enjoyed this. I rattled through the entire trilogy without being tempted to take a break from it. The stories linked up pretty seamlessly, being largely about one family. It was funny without being nasty and it bounced along even when there wasn't much plot to drive it. I nearly missed my tube stop a couple of times because I was just so engrossed in it.
